Prototype Drone Engineer

We are looking for a hands-on engineer to help us test, build and perfect the drones that bring our autonomy software to life. You will work on both fixed-wing and quadrotor drones, supporting the integration of our visual navigation stack. This includes flight testing, drone assembly, 3D-printing parts, and configuring flight hardware. If you literally want to see your prototypes take off, this role is for you!

Responsibilities

  • ​​Independently perform and analyze flight tests

  • ​Assemble drones (quadrotor and fixed-wing) and configure flight hardware

  • Design and 3D-print parts

  • Support custom hardware development

  • Manage lab equipment and workshop facilities (tools, electronics, printers)

Requirements

  • Experience with flying drones (quadrotors and/or fixed-wing)

  • Experience building and configuring your own drones

  • Experience with 3D printing and design

  • Driver’s license
     

Nice to have

  • Coding experience in Python or C/C++

  • Active/past involvement with student teams
